MTN Cameroon turns Majestic Cinema in Douala into a two-day hub for mentorship, hands-on workshops, tech demos and concerts, aimed at Cameroonians aged 18 to 35, on July 29 and 30.

MTN Cameroon's YaMo NXT LVL platform moves beyond data bundles and airtime bonuses. On July 29 and 30, the operator opens Majestic Cinema in Douala for the YaMo NXT LVL Convention, a two-day gathering built around four tracks: Inspiring Talks, Workshops, Fun & Games and Concerts. The event targets Cameroon's 18-35 age group, a segment MTN is positioning as partners in a longer-term digital economy rather than as short-term subscribers.

Inspiring Talks brings together local entrepreneurs, professionals and community leaders for mentorship sessions and panel discussions, giving attendees access to networks usually reserved for structured career programs.

Workshops focus on practical business and technical skills, linked to MTN's YaMo Pitch competition, which channels startup ideas from ten public and private universities toward a national final in Douala. Participants leave with usable tools for building or scaling a small enterprise, not abstract theory.

Fun & Games turns the convention floor into a live network demonstration: esports tournaments, virtual reality stations and drone piloting show what low-latency 4G and 5G connections support in practice, introducing attendees to fields such as content creation and aerial surveying.

Concerts close each day with performances from Cameroonian youth artists, anchoring the professional tracks in the cultural energy that draws the crowd to Majestic Cinema in the first place.

For attendees, the return sits in three areas: skills gained through Workshops, contacts made through Inspiring Talks, and funding routes opened by YaMo Pitch, where the top three university teams share cash grants of 1,000,000, 750,000 and 500,000 XAF, plus laptops and a year of free MTN Home Box internet. Students aiming for university can also connect with the SIU scholarship track, which covers 2,000,000 XAF in tuition alongside a laptop, mobile internet and software tools for high-performing Baccalaureate and GCE scorers.
